The Worshipful Company of Poulters

The Worshipful Company of Poulters of London

Membership

The Livery

The livery currently has 204 members. In the past it was necessary to be a member of the Livery to be able to trade in poultry within the walls of the City of London. That requirement no longer exists but the Company is anxious to encourage members of the Trade to apply for membership. However, the Company is not exclusive, and those interested in becoming a freeman but not working in the Trade, may apply for consideration.

The Company's policy is to seek to recruit to the Livery people who will help it to achieve the stated objectives (see below). It looks first to young members of the families who over the generations, have supported the Livery. Then it looks to members of the Trade who are interested in supporting the Livery. Finally it looks to people who are interested in upholding the City’s traditions and in particular, wish to participate in its charitable activities.

Applicants should write to The Clerk at The Old Butchers, Station Road, Groombridge, East Sussex, TN3 9QX 5QN, in the first instance, or by email to the_clerk@poulters.org.uk
